I seem to recall this was the subject of discussion 2 or 3 years ago
when it first bloomed. Well it's blooming again and I can't figure it
out... the bloom looks exactly like a Siberian when it first starts to
open. But then it seems like a versicolor when fully open. But when I
transplanted it this spring the root system was MASSIVE as I have only
ever seen before in robustas. And this flower blooms consistently
around 12" or less. How cute!!! It's absolutely adorable.
It also has 4 bud positions along the stalk. That's why I remember
discussing it before. I couldn't remember so many buds on a versicolor
before, so I took some pics and drew arrows pointing them out, etc.
Please note there is no blackness to the foliage or buds, which seems to
be a characteristic of robustas.
I think this plant is the same shown in pic # 21 of 37 on the SIGNA
database.
