Wow!  Dennis, that is indeed a truly beautiful iris.  You say the foliage is narrow, but to me it reminds me of Allium foliage.  Would you happen to know the hardiness of this iris? 
Where is it naturally found?   Too many questions, but to a lover of plants it is such a beauty.

One of my favorite oncocyclus irises... I'm so glad I finally got to
meet it in real life! It smells great. The foliage is so narrow and
small... not like other irises I've seen.
