RE: I aphylla H-17

When the weather keeps me out of the garden I get to catch up on line.
Glad to know that I was missed. Species are just getting started here.
So far the I. junonia,I. missouriensis,  and I. aphylla's (many) are blooming.  So looking forward to
more coming along if we ever warm up.  Saturday broke a record for the coldest high
for the date.  And yes, we saw the snow return on the mountains around Boise. (About 18 inches of the white stuff)
Sunday and Monday were cold mornings 32 and now it is raining and the temperatures
have moderated. Very interesting Spring.  The hardy plants are letting us know who they are.

I also have seen the random purple streaks on it here in Boise, Idaho.  So seeing a clean
looking plant is nice.

Thanks for the info, Chuck.

I got this aphylla from you, back in 2005.  It's never had any streaks in it.

H-17 has been registered as "Yellow Conundrum" by Eric and Bob Tanksley-Clarke in 1994.

Here (in Guelph)  it always has random purple streaks on it. Interesting to see it so clean looking.

Here's a picture of I aphylla h-17, which has grown well here for a number of years.

I croatica and I variegata reginae are setting buds.  I lactea has been blooming for a few days, but I've yet to see I graminea or I typhifolia bloom, after 3 yrs of growing here.  My species spuria, orientalis, has barely poked it's nose up.
