Wow.  It must be I. typhifolia.  I have no recollection of planting that in my prairie bed.  I transplanted my arilbred collection to the edge of the prairie too... and they're finally starting to bloom after taking a year off.

May is definitely the month of irises in my yard!

Oh, and I noticed 3 little cristata flowers on my tiny patch along the side of my house.  I planted dozens of cultivars once upon a time.  These are all that remain.  I'm glad at least one of them was happy enough to live.
