Re: hybridizing...

I've been mostly hand pollinating species, but I did try crossing Iris pseudacorus 'Gubijin' with the JI 'Springtime Melody'. I have three seedlings from that cross from last year. But this year there was only one bloom left on Gubijin when Springtime Melody bloomed and it doesn't appear to have taken. The other JI I have are all species forms; I like pseudatas with pale colors so I didn't try them.

I did something today I haven't done in a while... made some Iris crosses!  I crossed Satan's Mistress onto a few of my own seedlings, as well as onto Iris flavescens.  And I crossed some of my TB seedlings with Iris tectorum alba (both ways).

What's everybody else crossing this season?  :-)
