I just wanted to let you know NOT to be surprised if there aren't many fully developed seeds in your pods...

but also to tell you NOT to let that discourage you and definitely DO NOT toss out any half-developed ones. :0) I've found that sometimes the best germination comes from these less developed ones.
It's been a long time since I worked on tectorum/bearded crosses. Wide-crosses can be frustrating but it sure is a lot of fun when you do get a seedling.

Congrats, John! Iris paradoxa is my favorite bearded Iris species.

I just made a bunch more wild crosses between Iris versicolor & TBs, and Iris tectorum & TBs. I inspected my earlier crosses from last week between Iris tectorum & TBs, and there are definitely seed pods forming. Very exciting!
