I've been so, so busy with work that I've been slacking off on sending you guys photos. Here's that same mystery Chinenses species that Dennis posted photos of a few weeks ago, in full bloom today here. Same clump-forming habit and yellow petal reverse as henryi, but *much* larger, broader leaves. Unfortunately kirkwoodii finished up just the day before, or I'd have sacrificed one of these to get a picture of the two flowers side by side.
Now that I've figured out where to put them in my garden to get them to bloom, Chinenses have become among my favorite irises. Sean Z Zone 6a SE Michigan |
