Yes, cold is not the limiting factor for Iris tectorum. I have grown it
for 25 years in various parts of the gardens here in what used to be the
northern edge of USDA zone 4a. The alba clone and one from Chen Yi,
too. I did grow some from the Sun Moon Lake strain (if there is such a
thing) obtained through SIGNA. Grew 8 of them to flowering in pots (they
might have taller crests, I think), planted them outside, and none
survived the first winter.
