Iris foetidissima seedlings [1 Attachment]

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the group, but not new to species irises… and I’m a long time member of SIGNA. 

I have had so much fun this year with species during the bloom season. My I. unguicularis varieties (two named varieties from Rick Tasco in California) bloomed beautifully and for a long time. I also added a couple of old named cultivars this spring, ‘Mary Barnard’ and ‘Walter Butt.’

Also, I have been growing lots of the fetid irises from seeds. Attached is a photo of an arrangement I made. This iris is wonderful in my garden. I grow it for the superb evergreen foliage as well as the flower. Unfortunately, in my garden the red seed capsules always look bedraggled in my! garden.

Anyone else on this list interested in the fetid iris?
