Hi Jim,
I grow both Iris crocea and Turkey Yellow (Iris xanthospuria). Iris
crocea is taller. The BIS Species Iris book list I. crocea as up to 150
cm (4 1/2 feet) with I. xanthospuria between 50 cm and 100 cm (1 1/2
feet to 3 feet). The falls of I. crocea are "crimped at margin" and the
standards are "waved at edges". I grew my I. xanthospuria from seeds
collected in Turkey. It is a much deeper yellow than suggested by your
photo, but I'm not sure how much natural variation there is. I have
pictures of both iris in the SIGNA species database:

Your plant seems to fit most closely with Turkey Yellow, but could it
be a hybrid?

Hello All,
I am coming to the conclusion that
this plant grown from seed is either Iris crocea or Turkey Yellow. It
is about 30 inches tall.
Can anyone give me more information
on these two irises such as size etc.. Perhaps someone is growing them
now?
