I've heard of Iris giganticaerulea being tolerant of coastal salt water conditions. It's probably worth trying Iris virginica. But I have no real evidence for it.

 Ozello is on a small spit of land that sticks out into the Gulf of Mexico. It would be subject to being exposed to sea water. Does anyone know if Iris virginica is salt tolerant enough to grow there?
