All this talk of Neomarica had me checking out Brazil Plants website and drooling over the weird species documented there.  I've got 3 mystery plants growing on my living room windowsill.  I'm expecting them to bloom this winter.  From appearances they're either Neomarica or Trimezia.  Time will tell.....

I had a Neomarica years ago growing on my windowsill.  They did fine until they bloomed.  The arching stalks kept knocking the plants off the windowsill.  It got super annoying.
