SV: SV: Evansia species

Hi AL,
 
As you can read of the mail from Robert, are the plants quit tolerant. I would also say thay I have about zone 7 at my place. An average winter are the temperature only a few time around -12 - -15 degrees C.
I have also tried dietes and dierama, but have not had any survievers yet. I have nothing under cover. Everything are planted outdoor.

I am happy and gratified to hear of your i. japonica growing in your yard. In relationship to my zone 7 in what zone would you place your environment?  I germanated 1 out 4 japonicas and the starlings plucked the one out of the pot. I do have three  i. confusa on which I am wavering. Inside or outside? I have an area in the front facing southeast.
 
The coldest it has been is -20 f in the 30 years we have lived in the current house. Perhaps it has dipped below zero a dozen times in that time period  The coldest last year was +3 f.    
 
I also have alophia, dietes, herbertia  and dierama to transplant and am sure these will go into pots for house culture.
