When interest to I.narcissiflora has grown I took my records to tell
more exactly. Seeds have been sent to me by James W.Waddick in 1997.
For some reasons they were sawn only in 1999. Sorry, I have no
recorded for this packet how many seeds there were, but I think few.
In 2000 sprouted only one and it is what I have now. As I did not knew
how to manage I grew it in pot in my framed loggia until spring 2003.
Your notes, Bob, are very interesting especialy to what known groups
it can be ascribed. I doubt about regelias as there are no one known
with yellow flowers, but descriptions of psammiris irises have some
resemblances with description of I.narcissiflora, including yellow
flowers almost for all species in this section, beards, narrow leaves,
flat appearance of flower (I.humilis), etc. Earlier I did not payed
great attention to this iris, but now think to study it better. What
can I promise, is to do my efforts for better care and if it will
flower next year-good photo and if there will be appearance giving it
is possibly true species, collect seeds, of course.
