Hi Folks,
I have just had a lovely bright yellow bloom open today on a seedling
labelled as:
03VGxmtb - SIGNA 03B024 - Hybrid HP Sp coll. Varda Gorge (Macedonia) X Pink
MTB seedling Harald Mathes GERMANY
There are 4 healthy seedlings from this batch of seed, all growing well and
with a number of bloom stalks. All seem to be the same bright yellow. The
bloom is about 2.5" tall, on a stalk about 6" tall. Standards are pointed
slightly towards the top, and the falls slender, and recurving. The colour
is consistently bright yellow all over, except for a light brownish wash on
the falls. This is a delightful bloom and I would be interested in knowing
more about the background of the plant species, if anyone has such
information. I particularly wish to know is it a species iris crossed with
an MTB, and if so does anyone know what that species might be?
I will post photos to the iris-photo site when I have them available.
Cheers, Jan Clark in Australia
