{Disarmed} half a million & counting...

Earlier this week the Iris Species Database website received its 500,000th hit.  I don't know who the lucky visitor was, but thanks to everybody who has contributed & used the site over the last 7 years.  I couldn't be happier!

At the time of writing this the statistics are:
Hit Counter: 501209
Number of Species: 265
Number of Photos: 1021

So on average about 4 photos per species.  That's pretty darn good, I think.  I'm also happy to see the irids getting more & more attention lately.

The site has problems handling special letters from other languages (like the ~ on the n, in spanish).  I need to find a way to fix that so it shows up properly on all pages.  More & more contributors are coming from overseas and it's not doing nice things to their names.

I have some other maintenance to do to the site, as well.  Several people contacted me this summer about errors they made inputting information to the site, so I will get those fixed real soon.
