Re: new member

Fillipo;

There are a number of questions in my mind. There was a Iris Symposium in Florence in the 1970's. This is the first of which I am aware. In 1993 I restarted the idea of symposia and I put together an International Iris Symposium at Missouri Botanical Gardens. Because it was so successful it spawned a symposium in New Zealand, one in the Czech Republic and Maretta's in Rome. After that their was also one recently in Moscow. Perhaps this is one, of which I am unaware, and could be called the second Florence Iris symposium. I vaguely seem to remember Maretta inviting me to something that I could not go to and maybe that was that symposium. If you would be so kind, please list a few of the authors of the papers presented so I would have a feel for the content.

Dear Robert,

I think the symposium is the same even if I don't find the picture you mentioned (there are few pictures of people), maybe you're in the picture taken in the old shop of the perfume pharmacy as I see prof Colasante with 3 men.....
My copy is black and white (photocopy), the original printing is from T.A.F. Editions, Florence.
The title is: Report of the 2nd International Symposium on Iris - "Hybrids and Iris" -  Florence, 5th-7th May 2006.

I have not understood if you got your copy or not, if not I can send you one, but I got only photocopied papers.

The symposium was held in Florence, but maybe some sessions was in Rome, I don't know..But I think it's really difficult to visit Florence and think that is Rome! So you surely have seen both the places.
