Re: I. versicolor 'Murrayana'

I had to try it, Dennis, as it's a Canadian.  Open-mouthed smile emoticon

I've planted it in a low spot.  Since the south side of my property slopes towards the Seine River, I can't fix all the low spots.  Usually, it all drains well except for last year especially, when it just never stopped raining and I could smell my poor bearded iris start to rot.  I dug out that entire area this summer, and have slowly replanted the most southerly section with mostly siberians, versicolor and daylilies.

I wish I liked 'Murrayana' more... but I find the small flowers and short stems to be unimpressive.  It is quite floriferous though!  The bees seem to love it.  Perhaps if I planted it in a wetter location it would produce taller stems, but I still wouldn't "love" the flowers.
