This photo was taken yesterday...
Bottom left = Sarracenia 'Red Rocket' (carnivorous pitcher plant)
Center = Spiranthes cernua 'Chadds Ford' (laddies' tresses orchid)
Bottom Center = Calopogon tuberosus seed pod (grass pink orchid)
Center Right = Sarracenia leucophylla (anthocyanin-free carnivorous
pitcher plant)
Center Right = Iris tridentata seed pod (freshly harvested)
The assortment of iris foliage belongs to I. tridentata and I. fulva.
I was astounded that I. fulva adapted to the nutrient poor, high pH, flower bed.
Both species bloomed like crazy, but very few flowers set seed.
How cool is it to grow Irises, Orchids, and Carnivorous Plants
together in one bed?
Feel free to tell me how jealous you are. ;-)
