Could it be just temperatures? I notice now, we had our first snow, the versicolors have more purple on the base than when it is warmer!

I see none on the one I just planted, nor on the versicolor I collected from the Lake Winnipeg area back in the mid 80's.  I do recall seeing it earlier in the season on a piece of this one that I'd potted for the pond.

I'm interested in knowing if Murrayana  has the typical purple base to foliage that occurs with versicolor.

Could people who have a piece of this cultivar check and let me know?
