Re: The future of iris-species group

Like a few have said I do read the posts to stay generally aware of the various iris communities. The HIPS Board of Directors and staff have been using Google groups for a couple of months. All we've used it for is "regular" email so can't comment about other features the service might support.
One can wish: Have wished many years that there was some sort of combined AIS/Sections "portal" one could access and then go into any forum they wanted to. Had an AIS interest nibble at one point but trail went cold. HIPS only lets members ($13/yr) use their forum, . When I was board member I expressed I though it should be public access. I'd lobby HIPS and AIS too if there seemed some sort of group interest.

Hi All,

I assume everyone got the notice that Yahoo is shutting down Groups.

Traffic on iris-species had been light to nonresistant for some time now. Please let me know if you think it's worth finding another service or if you think it's time to say "it was fun while it lasted."  Remember that we do have a facebook page.
