I belong to a large group that uses groups.io for group
discussions by email and I find it not only free, but effortless
to use. I would recommend that venue because it is free and
seamless to use and is not facebook. I do use facebook for my
local Iris Society and have found that some members absolutely
refuse to use it. Groups.io seems to have no politics and no
bias.

I would very much like to see this list keep
going as an email list, as it's so much easier to save and
search things from email as opposed to Facebook. (by the
way, what is the Facebook group called?)
Another list possibility is
groups.io - they have a
basic group setup that is free. They do have a 1G
storage limit that includes email attachments, but at
our current rate of traffic it'd take us a while to
reach that (and we could delete old attachments if that
becomes an issue). I'd be willing to do the transition
if we decide to do that.
Would mallorn be willing to host the list?
Thanks,
Jean

Hi All,
I assume everyone got the
notice that Yahoo is shutting down

Traffic on iris-species had
been light to nonresistant for some time
now. Please let me know if you think
it's worth finding another service or if
you think it's time to say "it was fun
while it lasted." Remember that we do
have a facebook page.
