RE: i. aphylla 'Irina's Gem'

‘Irina’s Gem’ is a small lavender aphylla.  I’ve kept it alive, and it blooms, but it’s not vigorous here and I haven’t had much increase to share.  This year I replanted four rhizomes, which I intend to leave undisturbed for two years.  Here is the description from my Website:

Description: http://www.iriscolorado.com/images10/Irena_small.jpg

IRINA'S GEM  (Juri Pirogov 2006)  Species (Iris aphylla).  Collected in the "Yamskaya Steppe" area near the city of Stary Oskol in the Belgorod region of Russia.  'Irina's Gem' was the one plant with lavender flowers among thousands of the usual purple aphyllas.  Found by, and named for, Irina Zolotukhina.  Grows to about 12 inches in Colorado.

"Irina's Gem' is high on my list of plants to figure out how to obtain
as well, and I've never even grown aphylla before. I guess I'm just a
sucker f! or wild-collected abberant forms.
