Subject: Seeking support for irid research
Hi There,
My name is Evan Eifler. I'm a graduate student in the Botany Department at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the USA. I just came across your species iris group webpage. It's fantastic! I study the ecology and evolution of the Cape Floristic Region in
South Africa, the biodiversity hotspot for the iris family. I'm attempting to collect, extract the DNA from, and build a family tree for a beautiful yet very poorly understood and endangered genus in the iris family, Geissorhiza. Funding for this sort of research
is hard to come by these days, so I'm running a crowdfunding campaign to help support my work. The page includes a nice video and explanation of my work as well as updates and photos that I will be posting as I continue fieldwork
for the next 3 months. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for where I might circulate this page.
Contributing to this campaign will help us learn a great deal about how the diversity of the iris family is generated and will raise awareness for this beautiful and endangered group of plants. Please let me know what you think
and please forward the link (below) to anyone that might be interested. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Also, please let me know if you have any questions.
