RE: new to iris growing


Most of my favorite iris seem  to do fine in full sun (although I wouldn't 
know, if you are in the desert).  Try Epicenter (a vigorous, striking Ghio 
plicata; Timescape, a ruffled lavender & white blend by Hagar; tried and 
true Persian Berry; or Rock Star.  Also, Pagan Pink seems to do especially 
well in the sun.
