Linda,
There has been some rather odd weather in Florida. With lower than
normal rainfall, there is lower than normal humidity. Less humidity allows
for greater differences in the day and night temperatures. Recently, most
days have had at least a 30 degree difference, with 40 degree differences
being rather frequent. A few days, like today, have had 50 + degree
differences between day and night temperatures.
Thankfully, those Louisianas and Iris virginica types have been durable,
although bloom life is shortened a little by the drier air.
