Don't be fooled--there are coyotes in the east. Coyotes are fairly
common in Florida, and there is a den not too far away. They have not
bothered Irises or any of my other plants, nor have they attacked people
here. Still, I would not approach one. If anything, the coyotes may
actually be having some benefit by getting rid of other undesirable stuff.
Also, I know that coyotes are found in Kentucky, and probably most other
eastern states.
