Destiny Dallas... Reality Baby

For a long time I've been watching the upcoming Dallas date of 2000
approach... thinking Oh!  there's a convention I can made (200 mi
away)... 

Except.... back then I wasn't contemplating having a baby in 1999!

So... I'm really torn over whether or not to go... and obviously
haven't looked into it much.

What I'm wondering is this:

If I took a day to invest in going, which day would be best, based
on the following:

1)  I'd like to see iris, preferrably new ones
2)  I'd like to meet some of you fine folk and other international
    superstars :-)

That's it!  Also, if one tours the gardens, MUST one go on a tourbus
or can one go by private car (I've a husband and two kids)...

PLEASE let me know your opinions, ASAP, because it's this weekend... :-)

I missed our local show just by not being able to keep up with
anything.  But we were driving by and my husband spotted it and
we made a quick detour.  I was only there to look and write down
iris names (my husband says, why don't you grow any of those
cool black iris? and I turned surprised that he should know it
was a black iris and at the head table under 'black iris' was
HELLO DARKNESS which I'd guessed it probably was)... and anyway,
I got these huge feelings of guilt and being left out...
