The big question is..."Have you registered?"
If YES, then that includes the tours and the banquets.
If NO, I suggest you contact the registrar Steve or Ann Kimball TODAY and do so, by email - kskimbal@onramp.net, or phone DAY-(972)271-5056, NIGHT-(972)564-4281, CELL-(214)546)7499 with your credit card number ready (I called Steve and he said by today).
Only registered people can ride on the bus tours and go to the banquets. If you find someone who is not using a day's tour or a dinner, then you can make whatever arrangements the two of you find agreeable for you to take their place, but you cannot sign up to go when you get here.
The events like the section meetings and judges training are open to anyone, registered or not.
The private gardens are not open to people not on the tour, but you can certainly go
to the public gardens on your own: the Arboretum, Farmer's Branch Gardens and the Addison Gardens. There is a fee ($7.00) to go to the Arboretum but there is so
much to see besides the iris that it really is worth the price.
I hope you can come. It really will be fun.

Well, there is only one heifer standing between me and my
taking the trip east (good heifer sitters are hard to find). Since
I have never been to one of these before, how about some tips?
E.g., what does one wear? (I remember some kind offers from
earlier postings, but I'm afraid it's a bit late to alter the proffered
wear). Is it very casual....as in bluejeans and sneakers (my usual
and always preferred mode of dress) or is it casual towards dressy?
I hope it's not gray flannel suits or I'm going to pass. Are ties in
order for events?
And besides taking garden tours, how does one elect which other
functions to attend (Italian dinners are easy)? Do you sign up for
them or just show up and grab a chair?
