HYB: Arilbreds as Parents

Hello Folks,

Quarterbreds, halfbreds, 3/4 breds and arils. These are what
I've been trying to use. Frankly, again this year the success
rate is not good considering the amount of time spent gathering
pollen and daubing. For whatever reasons, there hasn't been a
wealth of fluffy pollen, but I've scrounged anything that looked
like it might be usable. I clearly have had little fortune in getting
anything in the aril family to set pods. It looks as tho two pods
on ANACRUSIS are all that was successful. And after some
difficult (for me) homework :). For some reason, the success
rate using pollen on TBs is better. Why? KOKO KNOLL seems
again this year to have potent ability to set pods on TBs. But
not on another arilbred. The arilbred bloom season is winding
down, so the chances of getting pods on them gets slimmer
every day. However, there are pods on TBs using the collected
pollen already forming. How long will it stay viable in the envelopes?
I know Walter was freezing his, but I haven't done that. Planning
crosses didn't get me much so far, serendipity still at work this
year.

find the correct subject tag. I remember using my printout for a book
marker, but can't remember which book, catalog, or whatever else is
in this pile by the computer I used it in. Thank you, Chris.
