SUKY (C. Mahan, R. 1988)...S. white flushed light violet (RHS 86B) around
edge...
SUMMER FIESTA (Schreiner's , R. 1989) S. creamy yellow (RHS 2C) F. rose
violet (58A)...

Two instances from a randomly opened page of the 1989 Check List. Others may
use the terminology but not the numbers. There have been two versions of the
RHS chart, or two of which I am aware, and some people prefer the older.

something like that; it doesn't look like RHS.>>

I'd assume that is Mertz & Paul, yet another of the several individual color
charts that, as I mentioned, have been in use over the years. Some prefer
one, some prefer another. In the early days Ridgway's Color Standards and
Color Nomenclature was the one that was considered the most useful for irises
due to its especially rich range in the purples and purpled reds.
