I've had a plastic box1/2 filled with soil that had iris in it all
winter, today I was checking them, they had grown some but not a lot.
Tested the soil temp and it was cold, very cold, so I hauled it out to
the garden and with my dirt bucket and hand tool, made a bed for the 3
iris that where in it, and did a fast transplant of the iris into the
bed and then used the soil in the box to build up the bed even more.
Now the should warm up more and faster since they get full sun all day
now.
Will have to look at doing the same thing for the other plastic box
,the two ice coolers, and the tin can , all with iris in them.
