Kevin Vaughn, newly-elected president of SLI, and Billie L.
Jones, veep for NMLIS, escorted Bernard and Heather Pryor around
North Mississippi gardens yesterday.
As you know the Pryors are accomplished Louisiana iris
growers and breeders and are members of this list.
It was an honor to have Australian iris royalty visit my garden
on such a pleasant day and to view the garden at near peak,
actually going down hill now since the first bloom on GENETIC
BURST, March 9.
In bloom they saw all bearded classes plus Louisianas,
Japanese, Siberians, Spurias, but two in particular they flipped
over.....SYRIAN PRINCESS, an arilbred, and FRECKLETEC, a
truly different tectorum.
We adjourned for tea.....and they requested their tea be iced!
Southern traditions catch on very fast!
