Summer temperatures may have something to do with this too. I tried
Iris setosa twice in Kentucky, and lost it both times, and that was in USDA
Zone 5/6. I reached the conclusion that hot nights in the summer were a
contributing factor to this species' demise. There is no way Iris setosa
would survive in USDA Zone 8b Florida, but the related species Iris
tridentata looks good now.
