Since I am the tabulator for the Iris Society of Dallas until such time as I
break both arms in early April, I am sending you a report of our show at the
convention. It was a smaller show than usual as some of us didn't have time
to enter many (or any)
this year. There were 188 entries composed of 178 different cultivars.
Some came from far away. Tony and Dorothy Willott entered eleven. The
Queen of the show was Clara Ellen, a spuria and runner up was Ocelot, a TB.
For all you Thornbird
lovers, it was best spaceage iris. Iris-talker Dell Perry won the silver
medal for most blue ribbons. We thought we had a tie because she and
another member had the same number of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries, but
then a very red faced clerk
found six uncounted tags in her pocket. Dell won by one blue.
