Re: CULT: Insect Problem?

While at convention, I was able to speak with Ginny about Merit, and from
what she has told me about it being organic and systemic, I plan to try it
out next year when the aphids attack. (((HOWEVER...I want everyone reading
this to understand that this product is not to be used with fruit or
vegetable plants, organic or not. It is systemic, which means it is
throughout the entire plant. You do not want to ingest it. Just use it on
ornamentals.)))

Monsanto has genetically engineered potatoes, corn, and soybeans that
produces insecticide within its own cells so that spraying is not necessary.
This insecticide is "supposedly" harmless to humans, but we really don't
know. Some of the fast food fries you have been eating for the last year
are made from the insecticide-riddled potatoes. The FDA has not approved it,
saying it is not under their jurisdiction...yada yada yada. But I digress
here.

Bill,
My April Bulletin hasn't arrived here yet. I wonder if Merit would
control spider mites... The less harmful to the environment, the better off
we all are.
