I can spot some flowers' seed pods miles away, and others, I can't!
My 8-month-old is proving adept at plucking buds, standards, falls,
bloomstalks, etc., as I kneel, holding her on one knee, taking
pictures with another. Today she removed a pod -- it was still
very green and I opened it and lots of infant seeds :-(
Other "pods" I examined were smaller in size, as if dried and
shrunken (which makes sense) but the outside was rubbery or
slimy, not brittle as I would expect a seed pod to be. Rubbery
and slimy means rotted to me. And I could not find any "seeds"
inside. The "seeds" in the green pod were clearly visible,
about the size of pansy seeds.
So what DOES a TB pod look like? Is it pale brown (vs. dark
brown) and brittle (cracks open easily) with smallish seeds?
That's what I'd guess...
