I am still having borer problems. Half my iris are uncovered by snow and the 
other half is still 3-4 " under the snow. Will go and spray this weekend and 
finish removing old leaves. Here I find that the leaves are still green and 
growing right up untill we get snow and then they are buried so it is hard to 
remove them in the fall.
I think Buring is okay.   have you been to the amazon?   we are not buring 
chemicals and our little backyard fires are so minor in comparison with 
industry. I am off on a tangent but we have low water use flush toilets now 
that we have to flush 3 times using just as much water as before, a renewable 
resorce, while industry pollutes major waterways. What is wrong with this 
thinking?
Anyway i have crushed and sprayed and burnt iris and still have borer and I 
think in New England always will.
