UNKNOWN: SDB

Evening everyone,

I went to a local popular nursery yesterday to get a flat of impatiens and
somehow ended up in the perennial room. They had miniature irises blooming.
They had SDB 'Pixie Princess', SDB 'Little Episode' and another SDB labelled
as 'Eye Bright'. This last one was a cutey, but it wasn't 'Eye Bright' for
certain. I've grown 'Eye Bright' since '94. When I mentioned this to the
plant supervisor, she looked at me with that look - whadaya know lady. It
fast disappeared when I mentioned my Iris Display garden status.

I couldn't tell her what the unk iris was though, but it could explain how I
too have that unk. It's one I've been trying to identify for many a year
myself. Over the last few years in particular, I'm getting really tired of
buying a plant for it's colour or name, and finding it not to be what I
bought, especially if it was expensive to boot! I now return those plants.
I've included a picture, in case anyone does know what it is. I wonder if
it's 'Ritz'.

It grows about 10" tall here and multiplies quickly.

Thank you.
