Sandra,
Welcome to the list. I live 160 miles SE of Winnipeg. I've had
little success with TBs, due to a large borer population. But IBs
and SDB's have done well. I. Aphyllas do well, here.
I. Versicolor, I. Setosa, I. Pseudacorus grow very well here
the last few wet years. Siberian Irises do well where planted
in afternoon shade.
I. Ensata seem to do poorly. I planted Louisiana Iris seeds
last fall, hybrids and I. Fulva to see if they will grow here.
Our ground is fairly flat and poorly drained in wet weather so
I've been favoring beardless irises the last few years. Most
of my plants have come from SIGNA Seed Exchange seed.
