Amy, it is very important for you to give your location on each post. Some of us have very short memories, so, if you told us once where you live, we still don't know now. Different irises do very differently in different parts of the country. If all of us know where you live, those in your area can tell you what probably will or will not do well there.
The deepest true blue iris I have is Soul Sister, Dunn, '97.

Hi,
Why are some iris different in color than their catalog pictures?
For instance- Breakers is shown as a deep blue in Schreiners catalog. But in
my garden it looks more like a deep purple/blue? I have it planted in
multiple locations, and it is still the same blue/purple.
I am trying to make a patriotic bed, and am having trouble getting a deep
blue. It kinda loses the theme with red, white, and purple. :)
I also am looking for any comments on a good red. The closest I have
currently is New Centurion.
Thanks for any input. This group is one of the best on the net. Very
informative.
Thanks,
Amy
