Hi Francelle,
I have a place that everything rots in in it's second year. Part of it has a lot of sand and part has heavy clay mixed with some good soil. It seems to have something to do with where it is. I am moving all of the iris I have there this year. It is just a no iris zone.

I just posted a picture to Iris Photos of my big healthy looking clump of Celebration Song trying to bloom out. I am hoping that somewhere among that mass of stalks is a fan that doesn't have a stalk coming out of it, so I will still have Celebration Song to baby through the summer and bloom again next year.
Does someone on Iris-talk know the cause of this problem, or have any idea of how to prevent or at least minimize it? In the same bed, I have also lost clumps of Sostenique and Gypsy Romance. It always seems to affect second year clumps.
