Thank you John and Laurie, for the information re alfalfa pellets/meal.
When I had my commercial rabbit herd I always had pellets scratched out
of the feeders that was put in my gardens - however, it was mixed with
feces and urine so I'm sure that helped account for the lush, healthy,
and productive garden I had! Iris beds too! I do remember getting a bag
(out of a ton) that had some mold in it and I spread it through several
corn rows. I could definitely see a difference in the corn grown there
vs. the corn in other rows. Hopefully the meal or horse pellets will be
less expensive!!
