I think it was Amy trying to find red, white, and blue iris? Lots of good
whites; Chosen One is my favorite, both lacy and dependable. No true reds;
a lousy grower Chief Quinaby was the closest I have seen. Lots of burnt
burgandies and such; try Picante, Rogue, Mulled Wine, Rustler, Born Again.
Don't suppose you could just break the yellowish standards off of Idol? Or
paint over the bright yellow ground color on Hot Chocolate?
I would have agreed with an earlier suggestion of Yaquina Blue, or possibly
Jazz Me Blue, but the perfect deep navy blue opened up on Saturday. I had
never seen Rippling River before, but wow! Very wide, deep-sea blue, great
ruffling. A hybridizer's dream, if it's fertile. The standards on the
first bud were a bit burnt by something, and the pollen was dried up.

where both my newer beds are at peak bloom (big smile),
and the older ones are still hanging in
