Not common, but not unheard of, either. There is a photo of PURISSIMA on
the HIPS website (www.worldiris.com) with stalks that are at least five
feet high (unless the gardener also shown in the photo was an unusually
short man!). The tallest stalk I ever measured in my garden (on TRIPLE
WHAMMY) just missed at 59".
