RE: TB: Touch of Mahogany

Congratulations to you John and Randy Squires too!

The South Plains Iris Society had its show, in Lubbock, today as well!!
Vernon and I won Best Specimen with a stalk of Hot Fudge. We also won the
Silver Medal with 14 blue ribbons out of 14 entries. To top this wonderful
day off we also won Best Seedling with a 1/4 AB seedling of ours. What a
rush!!

The San Fernando Valley Iris Society show is this weekend in Woodland Hills,
California.
I just won Queen of Show (okay, "Best Specimen" to those who insist on
gender-neutral political correctness) with Barry Blyth's intro TOUCH OF
MAHOGANY, a big stalk with two massive caramel-colored flowers with a
reddish
overlay on the shoulders.

Randy Squires won best seedling with a dark bitone that appeared to be a
child
of Romantic Evening.

I also had a very lovely stalk of Ghio's AMIABLE, among other entries.
