Yep, that certainly describes a typical year of weather here in the
'vale'.

I was surprised by how many of those central fans were killed here this
winter  in new things, since we didn't have any of the week or so of
above freezing nights followed by 20o weather.

<I was surprised how many I lost this March.  We had some
                   very warm weather and then it was quite cold again
without
                   snow cover. ..... it was only the center rhizome, all
of the
                   increases seemed fine.
.......we alternate between very dry
                   and then wet and humid through the summers.
......   Rot isn't often a huge problem
                   here, except last year when we had excessive rain
during
                   the heat of July.>
