There were three seedlings with stalks showing color on the Blatant x All
Revved Up cross which I cut and brought in. One is a variegata that bloomed
last year. The bloom itself looks much better this year, an improvement on
Blatant. An interesting lavender & white plicata and a yellow plicata. Yes, I
know there are no yellow plicatas! But whatever they are? I have one.
Looked beautiful in the bud, but really doggy by the time it finished relaxing.
The glaciata from this cross probably got frozen out. It wasn't showing
stalks when I cut the others.
The variegata was the first TB to bloom last year. Also early. This is to
give some perspective to where the season was before the freeze.
Something tells me this isn't quite like the freeze last fall! It stayed
cold and nasty and we expected it. This time it's going to be warm and pretty
and the beds will be inviting. Just no stalks. Daylily foliage was bit hard
too.
