Re: PHOTOS: damaged plants

I was very fortunate not to be zapped with the recent freeze, and I'm praying that we won't have the hail that the weather folks are predicting for this evening. I was out at 8 this morning cutting bloom stalks for the show on Sunday. But, I sure don't want to loose all the bearded stalks that aren't showing color yet. To say nothing about the LAs an d spurias that are still to come. We are also under a tornado watch all day.

Anybody interested in seeing photos of what it looks like out in the
iris patch today? I took some pictures for my own reference - won't
post unless somebody wants to see. Not a pretty sight. My memory
(i.e., lack thereof) being what it is, I want something to refer to
if/when bloom starts.

The two rows that were covered are strikingly in better shape than the
rest. Most older seedlings (stronger parents) are in better shape than
most younger (one strong, one weak but "better" parent). By "stronger"
and "weaker" I mean stronger vs weaker in this hell hole, not elsewhere.

To cheer me up , one of the potted irises (MULBERRY ECHO, I think) I
dragged indoors has a stalk showing color, and pot of DECADENCE (also
dragged indoors) has a stalk coming along. Questionable whether or not
there will be a mate for either of them.
