HYB: More experiments... & question

Sounds to me like you're scared and still bummed from last year.
The worst is over - I promise!

One of my many wild theories is that, to get a really good
multiple/early rebloomer, you need a plant that can continue
to grow during the hottest part of the summer. (Duh!)

Make a list of potential parents that are not affected (or less
affected) by spring frosts, whether by resilience or by late
blooming avoidance. Then, during July/August, walk around with
the list and mark the ones that look happy. The short list then
becomes your 'A' team for pod parents.

Throw out last year altogether. Now you have a plan.

I've been marking my notebook with seedlings that have 'spent'
the primary fan sometime over the winter. I'll go ahead and line
them out, some sight-unseen, right after spring bloom, going on
the assumption that they tried to fall bloom. Heck, Pink Attraction
didn't open until November last year.

Will do my best to get pictures from the National for you and Griff.

Your PFIC1 is healthy looking, but seems cautious to put out much
growth right away in this chill. Smart iris!
